We had a great turnout for championship day. The weather was perfect! Our top players for the week, Craig Martinez and Becky Ullyot, Donna Meyerson and Kathi Miers were our contenders. Joe Munoz also qualified with an average of 9.8! The game started out a little slow for Craig and Becky, who fought back from 0-6 to tie! Craig hit the best reset shots I have seen all year! But Donna got in a groove and hit shot after shot, fast and down the middle, especially when she started getting hungry for lunch! Let’s get this thing done! Donna and Kathi ended up winning over Craig and Becky, 15 to 7.

This month’s Championship game on May 21st was truly one for the books!
We had an incredible round-robin finale featuring our top four players: Robyn Frye, Rick Ross, Alison Johnson and Ken Ernst.
Alison and Ken wasted no time asserting their dominance, securing a quick 5–0 lead in the opening minutes of the 23-minute battle. Not to be outdone, Robyn and Rick chipped away point by point, eventually tying the match at 5–5. From there, it was a spectacular, back-and-forth defensive battle. After numerous side-outs, the teams found themselves deadlocked again at 11–11. In the final stretch, Robyn and Rick found another gear, pulling ahead to close out the thriller with a 15–11 victory.
Our regular 3.5 championship observers all agreed that this was one of the most fiercely contested and competitive matches in recent memory. Congratulations to Robyn and Rick on their hard-earned win, as well as Alison and Ken for a phenomenal performance!

The 3.6 RR was a tough fight. The volley went back and forth. No one team was dominant. The teams complimented one another on good shots and good placement. Bill Zawicki and Mark Schmit eventually won the battle over Tom Kreutz and Mark Pickerel. This was not your average championship game. It was a fantastic match. Thank you to Stan Blackburn and Charlie Russo for being line judges and Bill Friend for being the photographer.

Under bright blue skies and perfect pickleball weather, the championship match featured Doug Gesswein and Mark Madrigal facing off against Ed Sheldon and Stephen Rachner. The contest began as a tightly fought battle, with both teams exchanging impressive shots and matching each other point for point through the early stages of the game.
As the match progressed, however, Doug and Mark found their rhythm and began to take control. Combining strong teamwork, consistent play, and timely winners, they steadily pulled away from their opponents. When the final point was scored, Doug Gesswein and Mark Madrigal had secured the championship with a convincing 15-6 victory.
Congratulations to both teams for an exciting match and a great day of pickleball competition!

On a warm moderately windy day the new reformed 4.0 play group had their PPA RR championship game. John Brinkman was the #1 seed scored a 63 total for the day and his partner Derek Duval, #4 seed, scored a 54. Their opponents were Theo "15" Misbach was the #3 seed with a score of 56 and his partner at the #2 seed Steve Joannes with a score of 61.
The game started out slowly with players exhibiting good patience. At 3 apiece Derek and Jon went on a 4 point run.to 7-3. Then they got stuck on seven while Theo and Steve went on a 10 point run to get to 13-7, In that time there were hard attempted body shots that were defended and returned, Patient dinks when the wind allowed and a couple ten plus hit rallys. John and Derek mounted a tremendous comeback with the pressure of their opponents only being two points away from the win. From a 7-13 score John and Derek closed the gap to 13-13. The tank went dry as Steve and Theo closed it out15-13 for one of most exciting championships to date. Very well played gentlemen.!
